Spring Series 2004 Race Results

April 8 | April 22 | April 29 | May 6 | Summary

April 29

As seems to be the case with this race series, the wind was very light by the time we got the start sequence under way. The wind seemed good and steady as lone committee officer Mike Schott set the course and got everything ready all by himself. He designated a two-lap course, with the start line "open" for the second lap just in case the wind died and he had to shorten to one lap, he'd have the times that way. The start was good with no mishaps, the majority of the boats taking starboard tack and getting a good line to the windward mark. The race to the leeward mark was in lighter air, and by the time the cruising class reached it, the committee called the shortened course for the cruisers only, one lap for the non-flyers. For which we were all grateful. The flying class finished their two-lap course, in very light air.
