March 20th

The racing on the 20th started out waiting for wind, and waiting, and waiting and waiting. Finally at 2:00 we had enough for a start, and start we did! Our committee was Faisal & Terry aboard their georgeous Scarab and we began with startline to green # 3 and back to the finish line, with Faisal's suggestion that if the wind holds he'll extend the race to the tetrahedron and back to the start. The wind held pretty steady and extend the race he did. Slingshot was about to cross the finish line when the race was extended, so he went straight on through and out to the tetrahedron and back to the finish. The rest of us made our way on a broad reach and finally wing and wing to the mark, all but Tango going around the start line. The wind got real light and fluky, and Rossinante right on Moonlight Flit's tail barely made it back to the finish before the wind all but died, leaving Blidevind, Tango, Aileron in lighter air. Aileron was ten minutes behind the second and third boats, then Blidevind and Tango came in ten minutes after that. It was still a good day racing, after all, a bad day of racing is better than a good day at the office! Thanks to Faisal and Terry for being a great committee!
